Parkinson's Disease (PD)

Parkinson's disease is a medical disorder usually seen in the elderly population and is related to a disturbance in movement and gait.  Symptoms of Parkinson's disease include tremor, stiffness, slow movements, and impaired balance and coordination which usually worsen over time.  The modern management of this condition includes several treatment options such as medications and surgery, which can alleviate symptoms but cannot however cure the disease.

Ayurvedic herbal treatment for Parkinson's disease is aimed at giving symptomatic treatment to reduce tremor, stiffness and imbalance, as well as using herbal medicines to strengthen the brain and nerve cells.  Ayurvedic herbal medicines which have a specific action on the central nervous system are used in high doses and for prolonged periods in order to treat the root cause for Parkinson's disease.  Herbal medicines bring about a gradual regeneration and recovery of damaged nerve cells as well as the neurotransmitters connecting the brain nerve synapses.  Parkinson's disease is mainly a disease of degeneration and hence Ayurvedic herbal medicines which halt and reverse this degeneration are very useful in the management and treatment of this disease.

While treatment for Parkinson's disease is mostly in the form of oral medication, localized therapy can also be used to augment the treatment.  Since it is the brain which is mostly affected in this condition, localized treatment can be given on the scalp in the form of massage of medicated oils and special Panchkarma treatments like Shiro-Basti and Shirodhara.  These treatments have the additional effect of treating tremor and stiffness quickly and helping in regaining balance and coordination.

Most individuals affected with Parkinson's disease require treatment for periods ranging from six months to eight months in order to benefit significantly from treatment.  Ayurvedic herbal treatment can bring about significant improvement in symptoms related to Parkinson's disease and can substantially improve the quality of life of elderly individuals affected with this condition.

An order once placed, cannot be cancelled. For exceptional circumstances (e.g. sudden death of patient), we need to get our medicines returned in good and usable condition, after which a refund will be effected after deducting 30 % administrative expenses. Return will be at the cost of the client. Capsules and powders do not qualify for a refund. Local courier charges, international shipping costs incurred, and documentation and handling charges also will not be refunded.Even in case of exceptional circumstances, a refund will be considered only within 10 days from delivery of the medicines. The decision taken by staff of Mundewadi Ayurvedic Clinic in this respect will be final and binding on all clients.

The treatment package includes shipping costs for domestic clients who are ordering within India. Shipping charges are extra for international clients. In addition, international clients will have to select a minimum of 2 months' order since this will be the most cost effective and practical option.

With a full course of treatment, most patients recover completely or significantly. Best results are obtained with a combination of oral Ayurvedic medications and Panchkarma modalities.
